Only made use of the bar. The beer was fine, but the coffee wasn't very hot.
Gorgeous, clean, comfortable, absolutely ideal for business travel. Beautiful building with lots of great periodic features. The room was quiet and I felt perfectly safe as a lone female traveller. I slept really well which is unusual for me. The staff were all friendly and helpful too.My one tiny criticism was that I was unable to turn the cold tap off fully.
I've known the Grand Hotel for many years and even worked there as a youngster. However, I have to admit that it has drastically gone downhill over recent times. The room was ok but shower was only just warm but ran at a trickle as did the cold water tap. Not one I would stay at again
The hotel is dated and tired. The heating didn't work, the water pressure is poor and the hotel rooms require updating. The carpets are not fitted well on landings, the internet does not work well in the rooms. The staff however are amazing and are trying their very best with the poor quality tools that they have. Best Western need to invest in this hotel as it is not good overall.
Great family room and bathroom. Staff very friendly. Would stay there again. 4 stars for decoration and obvious renovation work
