I worked at this hospital for 3 months and enjoyed it. It is close to public transport routes so if you don't have a car it is easy to get to. It's a small hospital and does not have an emergency department.If you come across someone by the name of Martina Holmes that works there be careful, she either makes up stories or exaggerates what happened and makes you look worse than Hitler.
Hospital is well sign posted throughout, though there are lots of friendly staff around to help find your way around the hospital if you get lost. The hospital has a caf (Wilbers Caf) which sells a wide variety of hot drinks, sandwiches and cakes. Ample hospital parking is available, free for 20 mins otherwise tariffs apply. (valid as of September 2018) There is no A&E department.
I been to the heart part of this hospital, and the care was out of this world, very caring, lovely staff, parking is not so good, the blue badge parking is not very good here.
My son had an appointment that lasted 40 minutes, staff brilliant but the cost to park was 3.00. It's 3.00 to park from 30 minutes to 12 hours. The first 30 minutes are free. After waiting to be seen and then your appointment, how many get out within the 30 minutes. It cost more than most London hospitals for that amount of time. You should only have to pay for the time your parked. Diobolical!
Had gallbladder removed.Staff was friendly and attentive through the entire procedure . They all did wonderful work making me feel calm and safe. I suffer from severe anxiety disorder . Hartlepool has been my hospital of choice for over 15 years and I wish they would reopen it for other services. I have NEVER had a bad experience at this hospital, staff is always friendly and caring, but also efficient in their tasks. If I could give 10 stars I would!
